Now that the new Congress has had a chance to settle in, committee assignments have been made and hearings have begun, please join us as we take stock of what has occurred to date and where things may lead. The midterm election was a surprise for many reasons but one consistency regardless of the election is an interest in dealing with China.

We share some perspectives on the 118th US Congress, its leadership, key individuals involved in China-related policy, the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (Select Committee), and an overview of areas most likely to be on said Select Committee’s priority list.

Giovanna will be joined by David B. Mendelsohn, Manager - Government Affairs.

Topics Will Include:

  • What is the role of the Select Committee, including the impact of the hearings held to date
  • Which industries could be at the forefront of US-China competition in 2023 and have they changed?
  • What China-related policies are most likely to garner significant congressional oversight and how likely is it that the oversight will result in legislation?
  • How can global businesses prepare and manage potential risks noted by the Select Committee?
