James C. Stokes

Of Counsel

Jim Stokes primarily focuses on mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance matters for clients covering a broad range of industries. He has represented both private and public companies as well as equity and debt financing sources. Jim has also served as special counsel to boards of directors on corporate governance and related matters. A significant portion of his practice is devoted to cross-border transactions. Jim has been named on various “best lawyer” lists, including Chambers Leading Lawyers for Business, who noted that he is a “forward thinking lawyer with tremendous industry knowledge and the ability to make spot-on judgment calls.” He is a former board member and former president of the British American Business Council of New England, and former member of the board of directors of the German American Business Club of Boston.

Jim is co-chair of the firm’s Latin America Practice. He also spent five years as resident partner in the firm’s London office.

Between the completion of his undergraduate education and his enrollment in law school, Jim served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
