Jeffrey Sabin is co-head of Bingham’s global Financial Restructuring Group. Jeff focuses on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, debt restructuring and financial transactions. Jeff has more than 30 years of professional experience in the field. He has represented public companies, lenders, committees of secured and unsecured creditors, boards of directors, investors, and acquirers in numerous Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings and is co-head of Bingham’s Task Force on Dodd-Frank Financial Reforms. Jeff has chaired and taught numerous legal education and professional programs and is the author of many published articles and outlines on bankruptcy-related topics. Jeff is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy and a former chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Subcommittee on Fraudulent Conveyance Law.
Some of Jeff’s significant transactions include representing official creditors’ committees in LandAmerica, BearingPoint, Immunicon Corp. and Global Power; secured creditors in numerous cases, including TBS Shipping, General Motors, Chrysler, Spansion, Lyondell, Pacific Energy Resources, MGM Studios, TLC Vision and Nanogen; numerous unsecured creditors and counterparties in Lehman; and buyers of distressed assets representing defendants in complex bankruptcy litigation.
