John Holton’s practice is concentrated in public, private and offshore offerings of private equity funds, hedge funds and real estate partnerships.

John has extensive experience in international and emerging markets funds, and has advised clients with funds targeting Asian, African, South American and Eastern European markets. He also handles a wide range of other business, financing and commercial work, and provides ongoing advice to public and private corporations, investment advisers, and real estate management firms.

John is widely regarded by peers for a diverse U.S. and global investment funds practice. He is top-ranked by the editors at Chambers and is listed in both U.S. and Global editions. The Legal 500 notes that John is “excellent — a responsive and good communicator who is proactive in identifying issues and alternatives.”

John joined Bingham as an associate in 1991 and was made a partner in 1995. Prior to joining Bingham, he practiced at Gaston & Snow in Boston from 1985 to 1991.
