Carol Dillon is managing partner of Bingham’s Silicon Valley office, with more than 30 years’ experience in transactional real estate. She focuses on complex commercial ground leasing, representation of institutional investors, and acquisition and development of land for renewable energy projects. Her practice includes a broad spectrum of real estate matters, including the acquisition, development and disposition of a wide range of properties, including office buildings, shopping centers, agricultural lands and medical facilities.

In the past five years alone, Carol has represented clients in matters involving the purchase, sale and leasing of real estate valued at more than $5 billion.

Carol has been identified as a leading real estate lawyer by Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA, with sources noting that “Carol does a fantastic job of evaluating and advising on the legal issues in any transaction, without losing sight of the business reasons behind the deal.   • Represented the ground lessor in the $333 million sale of the improvements comprising a premium shopping mall, and the 51-year ground lease of the underlying land
  • Ongoing representation of Stanford University in the leasing of land and buildings in the Stanford Research Park, comprising 700 acres in the heart of the Silicon Valley and 10 million square feet of leased space
  • Represented a renewable energy company in the assemblage of more than 25,000 acres of land for solar projects
  • Represented an institutional investor in a complex ground lease/bond financing transaction for the development of an administrative medical office building
  • Represented the University of Southern California in connection with its lease of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
  • Represented an institutional investor in the ground leasing and ground lease restructuring of major resort properties in Hawaii
