Akshay N. Belani

Counsel

Akshay Belani focuses his practice on derivatives and the application of derivatives in trading, structured products and capital markets. He has practiced in the derivatives area since his graduation from law school, and his practice covers a broad range of financial products and services.

Akshay regularly represents hedge funds, banks, institutional investors, broker-dealers and other financial institutions in all aspects of their futures, derivatives and commodities trading relationships. He focuses on structuring and documenting futures, derivatives, and commodities transactions and has experience with ISDA Master Agreements, repurchase and stock loan master agreements, EEIs, and NAESBs as well as clearing, prime brokerage, options and futures account agreements, and related trading documentation. In addition, Akshay has substantial experience in futures, derivatives and commodities law and regulation.

Akshay also participates in pro bono matters and has been active in the Say Yes To Education Program as well as the Start Small Think Big Clinic.

During law school, Akshay spent time at NASD, Inc. (now FINRA) as an intern in the Division of Enforcement where he assisted in the investigation and filing of enforcement proceedings against NASD member firms and individuals.
