M&A Navigator, May 10, 2012 — A Bingham team led by partner James Rockett recently advised Union Bank on its acquisition of PNC Bank’s Smartstreet division — an Atlanta-based financial services unit that provides nationwide banking services to homeowners associations and community association management companies. Union Bank signed a purchase and assumption agreement with PNC to assume approximately $1 billion in deposits and acquire certain assets of the Smartstreet unit. The acquisition is expected to be completed later this year. In addition to Rockett, the Bingham team included partners Tom Reddy, Daniel Nelson, Natascha George and Amy Mugherini and of counsel David Gershon.
