Erica Brand’s practice focuses primarily on antitrust and complex commercial disputes. She has experience litigating contract disputes, intellectual property and antitrust matters in state and federal court. She has experience in many phases of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, supervising electronic discovery, motion practice, summary judgment, pre-trial evidentiary exclusions, mediation, and settlement.
Erica’s class action experience includes her involvement on two large class action suits involving price-fixing in the vitamins market. She has represented clients in environmental litigation and counseling matters with a focus on water issues and Proposition 65. She has also worked on a variety of pro bono matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Erica served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Bernard Zimmerman, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Erica also worked as a research assistant for Prof. Marjorie Shultz on a project aimed at developing predictors of lawyering effectiveness that could be used in law school admissions decisions.
