David Butler has over 25 years of experience in jury trials and bench trials in federal and state courts, and in arbitration proceedings throughout the United States. David’s experience touches nearly every commercial litigation practice area, including antitrust and trade regulation, class actions, complex litigation, complex contract and tort claims, distribution and franchise law, financial institutions litigation, healthcare law, insurance litigation, intellectual property litigation, partnership issues, mortgage banking litigation, and real estate disputes.
Although he is primarily a trial lawyer and litigator, David’s clients frequently turn to him for strategic analysis, issue evaluation and the development of alternative approaches for the resolution of business issues and other disputes. In addition, David has served as an arbitrator and mediator in various proceedings. David’s clients include individuals, large and small corporations, and national and international organizations and associations.
In addition to his law practice, David is active in local and national charitable organizations, where he holds various leadership positions. He is a past president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, and currently serves as president of the United Jewish Endowment Fund. He is also counsel to Hillel: the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life and special litigation counsel to the Orthodox Union.
